PAPER - SHREDDING
Shredded paper should NOT go in to mixed recycling. It is too small to get sorted and falls between the gaps in the machinary at the sorting facility. Shredded paper can be placed in to a paper bag, close the bag tightly, and place the entire bag in to the paper compactor at the transfer station. This paper goes straight to the paper recycler and does not go to the sorting facility. Shredded paper is also a great compost material. Professional shredding companies are able to shred your documents and send the shredded paper straight to the paper recycler.
